What type of license should I purchase? 

  • We offer three types of licenses at this time. The Educational License is for schools, colleges, universities, libraries, museums and other educational institutions and allows you to show the film multiple times on a single campus and its classrooms, or at one educational institution. The Community Screening License is for all other types of groups that want to show “Backpack”, and allows the film to be shown one time at a public or private event.  You can also rent the film on Vimeo to watch at home for personal use. This Home Video License is for private streaming only.

 

What formats are available? 

  • We offer Blu-Ray or DVD discs which include chaptering and menus with options for Spanish or English subtitles. You can turn on closed captioning with your own equipment.   DCP rental (professional format used by some movie theaters) is also available in English only, upon request. Different rates apply.  BACKPACK is also available for home video (streaming for private viewing only.) What payment methods do you accept? 

  • We accept the following payment methods: All major credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. If you wish to pay by check you will be given that option at check out. Make your check payable to Stone Lantern Films and mail to: Stone Lantern Films, 28 Hillside Avenue, Suffern, NY 10901. Be sure to send your name,  phone and email address with the check.

 

How will my film be shipped? 

  • We ship via the US Postal Service. Service details and shipping estimates for US Priority and Priority Mail Express are offered during the checkout process. There are also a number of international shipping options available at Checkout.

  • Orders generally ship within 3-5 business days. Handling and delivery time does not include Sundays or holidays.

  • Our apologies, but we are unable to send updates regarding shipping status.

 

Can I watch “Backpack” on my computer using a video streaming service like Netflix or Vimeo? Can I buy a DVD or Blu-ray to watch at home? 

  • Yes! “Backpack” is now available for Home Streaming (private viewing only) through Vimeo on Demand. For educational and non-theatrical streaming services contact Films Media Group.  To stay up to date on viewing options sign up here.

 

What materials will I receive when I purchase a license? 

  • You will receive one DVD or Blu-ray disc of the film which you may keep.  A wide array of community and promotional resources are available for download on our website in English and Spanish. These include a trailer, a Discussion Guide, a Screening Handbook with step-by-step tips on how to organize a successful “Backpack” event, editable flyers, posters, a sample press release, photos and more.

 

Can I show the film more than one time?  

  • The Community Screening License allows you to show the film one time at a public or private event. When you receive the disc, you are welcome to preview the film to plan for your event. The Educational License allows you (the Host) to show the film multiple times in a single campus and its classrooms, or at one educational institution such as a library, school, college or museum. The Home Video License allows you to rent the film for 72 hours and stream it for personal viewing. 

 

Can I preview the film before making my purchase? 

  • Sorry, we are not able to offer free previews. However, you can choose the Home Streaming license to stream the film privately at home, a low-cost option. You can also watch the trailer check the Screenings List on our website to see if there is a screening near you. If you want a preview before hosting a screening series please contact us at info@stonelanternfilms.org.

 

Do I have to send you information about my screening(s)?

  • Yes. After you make your purchase, we will ask you for the details of your screening and you can indicate if you want your event listed on our website.  If you don’t know the details yet, no problem! Click here and fill out the screening information when you have it.

 

Will I have to pay Sales Tax on the license fee? 

  • If you are a resident of New York State, sales tax will be added to your purchase at check out. If you’re a New York nonprofit organization please send a copy of your NY ST119 Exempt Organization certificate to info@backpackfullofcash.com

 

Can I change my order? 

  • All sales are final.

  • Orders are processed pending availability and credit verification.

  • Once an order is placed, cancellations or modifications cannot be applied.

  • Promotions may occasionally be offered. Stay Connected by subscribing to our newsletter to be alerted to any special promotions.

 

What if the disc is lost or damaged? 

  • You are responsible for the safe handling of the disc upon receipt, as well as the operation of any playback equipment. Be careful to avoid scratches, fingerprints, smudges, or anything else that might impair playback. We strongly recommend a tech check at each venue where you plan to show the film.

 

Who can I contact for help?

 

SHIPPING & HANDLING: 

Orders generally ship within 3-5 business days via the US Postal Service. If you select Priority mail your DVD or Blu-Ray should arrive within 1-3 days after shipping. If you select Priority Mail Express your package is guaranteed 1-Day or 2-Day expedited service by 3p.m. and includes $100 of insurance coverage. International shipping is also available at checkout.
